After leaving the United States Navy, Joe “Paver Joe” Gurski started his career in the San Diego construction industry. In the early ‘90s, Joe was a designer and construction manager for remodels and room additions. At that time, he learned the ropes in all phases of construction. Later, Joe changed gears and went to work in the landscape and hardscape industry.
Designing creative projects has been a passion of his ever since. He can make a small space feel large, divide a large space into several outdoor living spaces, and even bring the interior outside. From paver patios to outdoor kitchens, and everything in-between, Joe understands the intricacies of making the most of your outdoor living space.
With over 24 years of construction experience and more than six years in hardscape and landscape design specifically, “Paver Joe” has helped many fellow veterans and retirees make their outdoor visions a reality!

Shayna Orr believes effective communication between client and designer is an essential part of a successful landscape design. Her work at Landmark Pavers requires her to stretch her client’s imaginations, tap into her creative strengths as a designer and execute plans that take full advantage of the site. Each project Shayna undertakes involves thorough site analysis, careful execution of design drawings, preparation of clear proposals, and ongoing communication with field personnel.
Because Shayna’s education focused on ecology and the relationships found within natural ecosystems, she draws design inspiration from nature. Shayna has an extensive knowledge of which plants do well in the Southern California climate, what conditions each plant thrives in, and how these plants work together to create beautiful color palettes, provide food, foster wildlife and improve the health of the earth.
“This is the backbone of landscape architecture to me and why I desire to be part of it,” said Shayna. “It’s a combination of science and design that inspires people to recognize the value of nature. The scope of work of landscape architects is vast, but we share a common goal in creating a space that evokes emotion and pleasure while giving meaning to that place.”
John Campbell helps clients bring beautiful outdoor living spaces to life. He has an extensive conversation with each of his clients about everything from the endless variety of hardscape surface materials available on the market today to the benefits of using drought tolerant plant material.
“I like to guide homeowners in their quest for a comfortable and relaxing space to live and entertain in,” said John. “They’re often surprised to find that I can develop a workable plan for their yard right on the spot.”
Over the course of John’s career, he has worked up designs for many residential projects with outdoor features ranging from paver patios and water features to patio covers and BBQ Islands. John tries to understand and complement each homeowner’s unique style and then execute their vision for their home’s exterior living space. John’s flexibility during the design process allows his clients to either rely on his expertise and his recommendations or work up a plan that meets specifically with their wish list. John believes that collaborative work with the client results in the strongest designs. John Campbell’s design experience spans more than 30 years, with the last six years focused exclusively on outdoor landscape design.
